Group Project with Kalyssa Gagnon and Giang Pham. We shared responsibilities equally and were all involved with each step of the process.
Silva is a project that emerged from design to a project brief entitled “two legs and a rail” with the objective being to design and made a sitting and working surface. Our team took the approach of designing a bench as a moment of pause before heading out for the day or coming back home after a busy day out. Two heights works well for people of different heights and the compact design fits in any small apartment. If one height is not in use it also works well as a display surface for a bowl of keys or even a vase of flowers. Although the initial intented location was at the entrance, after talking to a few people who live in apartment, we concluded that Silva could fit well in various locations including the living room or the foot of a bed.
